Mixture of selected organic compounds for promoting the incorporation of nitrate and phosphate into additional biomass
The nutrient conditions for corals and sponges in reef aquariums are ideal when nitrate and phosphate are present in the lowest concentrations. Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto-Balance promotes the natural incorporation of nitrate and phosphate into additional biomass with a mixture of selected organic carbon compounds and suitable inorganic nutrients. This reduces these nutrients in the water and simultaneously prevents a nitrate or phosphate deficiency. The color development and growth of corals, sponges, and other filter feeders noticeably improve.
Nitrate and phosphate can be particularly successfully stabilized at the lowest level when Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Balance is used simultaneously with Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Pellets or Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Tricks. These are easy-to-use filter media made from organic biopolymers for fluidized bed reactors or trickle filters.

Application & Dosing
The dosage depends on the age of the aquarium:
For new and young tanks (0-1 year*), no more than 0.25 ml per 100 liters of tank volume should be added daily. For medium-aged tanks (1-2 years*), up to 0.5 ml/100 liters can be dosed daily, and for mature and older systems (>2 years*), between 0.5 to 1 ml per 100 liters of aquarium water daily. A dosage of 1 ml per 100 liters of tank volume daily should under no circumstances be exceeded.
*The age indications are approximate guidelines; in individual cases, the classification depends on the stability of the tank.
At the beginning of dosing Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto-Balance, the phosphate concentration should be between 0.02 mg/l and 0.1 mg/l. For excessively low phosphate concentrations, we recommend dosing Tropic Marin® Plus-NP; for higher concentrations, dosing Tropic Marin® Elimi-NP.
To enhance the effect of Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto-Balance, the dosage can be increased by 0.25 ml per 100 liters of tank volume daily every 2 weeks, but under no circumstances to more than the maximum dosage of 1 ml/100 liters daily. Add the concentrate to an area of strong flow in the aquarium.
It is beneficial to add it at the beginning of the lighting phase. If cloudiness occurs after increasing the dosage of Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto-Balance, revert to the previous dosage.
